About Us
Groomer/owner Katherine (Kat) Roll has been working with animals all her life and has been grooming dogs and cats for over 20 years. Opening Classy Canines in 2007 has been a lifelong dream come true. Kat specializes in delivering high quality grooming with compassion in a one-on-one manner in her state-of-the-art mobile grooming van. She often attends grooming seminars and workshops to expand her skill set and to stay at the forefront of the latest trends and technology in the world of grooming. She has won trophies and numerous ribbons at national grooming competitions, and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Master Groomer.
Kat is a Certified Dog Trainer and enjoys competing in agility, flyball, and disc dog competitions with her puli, Pippin, and lowchens, Sawyer and Nadia. She is an amateur handler in conformation dog showing and has single-handedly shown her lowchen boy, Sawyer (Am Ch Musicbox Lost In This Moment), to his AKC Championship title--and is currently working towards his AKC Grand Champion title.
Business partner/office manager, Rhonda Croxton, is a lifelong animal lover and is learning to train dogs and handle dogs for conformation showing. Rhonda is currently working with Kat to show Nadia (Musicbox Hope Springs Eternal) to her AKC Championship title. Rhonda and Kat have been best friends since they were 10 and 9 years old, respectively--having grown up across the street from each other in a Tampa, Florida neighborhood. Rhonda helps Kat manage the business-related aspects of Classy Canines on the weekends, and currently works for AstraZeneca in Wilmington, DE, having earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2001. Rhonda's father, Riley Croxton, is a talented artist who enjoys painting pet portraits and landscapes in his spare time, which he now has more of after retiring from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 624 in Tampa, Florida, after over 30 years of service as a highly accomplished Welder and Pipefitter. Portraits by Riley is a unique service offered by Classy Canines, and we are delighted to add this to our portfolio of services.
